We are a collection of inspired individuals who choose to overcome adversity with action. A chance to find purpose and to share that purpose in order to create a community of supportive and encouraging difference-makers. We are choosing determination over acceptance. Growth over failure. Perseverance over defeat. We’re leaning on those around us and being a shoulder to lean on. Go Be Great is knowing when to lead and when to learn.
We are a team striving to make a difference in the lives of those around us because it is one thing to be great, it is another to inspire greatness. We believe that kindness and compassion are an unstoppable force when combined with action and service. We are encouragers, hard-workers, helping-hands.
We are discovering our own unique greatness, our goals and strengths. We are striking a spark that spreads like wildfire. We are using our gifts in order to reach our full potential and sharing them to make a difference in the lives of those around us. Go Be Great is about learning, growing and embracing what makes you YOU!
My “Louisiana” version of our class motto surrounded by our social contracts that each class agrees to follow and signs the contract.
I have been teaching for 27 plus years and I am currently a Math Interventionist for a 5-8 grade campus. My focus this year is all 8th grade.
This team makes it a priority to give back to the community every year. They were part of the Purple Stride Walk which is Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s most powerful vehicle for fundraising and awareness. This cause is close to their hearts because one of their teammates lost her mom to this battle last year.
One of the teams from Platinum Athletics received donations for and created “chemo care baskets” to give those currently going through cancer treatment. The goal was to create one or two baskets, but this team went above and beyond getting donations and were able to make 10 beautiful, comforting and fun-filled baskets.
This year at NCA All-Star Nationals, we were honored to award the #GoBeGreat award to a program who embraced the term “it takes a village”. The village began with their gym in South Florida and, thanks to social media, quickly spread to become the entire all-star community.
There are 7 cheerleaders at Charles Page High Schoool who completed over 2,500 volunteer hours in 2019 at a camp called Make Promises Happen. These girls dedicate their time, talents and energy to allow individuals with disabilities to live “life without limits”.
Wylie Elite was so incredibly honored to be the first Go Be Great Award recipient. This award is so special to us for so many reasons. It represents being great in all the right areas. That starts with the heart and at Wylie Elite, we believe in building Champions from the inside out. We want athletes to be great sons and daughters, leaders in their communities, and to love others well. Let’s all Go Be Great and make this world a better place.
Thank you for the “Go Be Great” organization and award. We are honored to be this year’s recipient and are excited to continue doing great things with your inspiration…We will be giving cards to each athlete to pass on after doing a random act of kindness. We want our community to be flooded with acts of kindness and these cards. If we start small, with just us, hopefully it will take off and continue to grow through all avenues.
#GoBeGreat means so many things but for me the most important is Servant Leadership and truly leading my example in your personal and professional life. It is so easy to say, but so hard to do and I appreciate this #GBG page to help with those reminders!!
To me #GoBeGreat means make a difference. Be kind, supportive and loving. A kind word or smile can make a huge difference for someone going through a hard time. Be nice.
Can you imagine what the world would look like if we all used that for our daily launch into life? As I share with my kids, they get to do something great every single day and they get to be the light in someone’s or something’s darkness! I hope their lights continue to shine and I can’t wait to see how they get to “Go Be Great” in their future!
For me, living out #GoBeGreat means looking out for the interests of others and not just yourself
Three simple words- Live To Give! Our time, a smile, pure kindness and so much more can change someone’s day and life!
To me it means sharing your strengths/gifts with others and learning from their God given strengths/gifts. Working together toward the goal and always supporting others.
Love and kindness…sprinkle that stuff EVERYWHERE.
