A Holiday Helping Hand: Alamo Heights High School

The GoBeGreat Award from this year’s NCA High School Nationals was presented to Alamo Heights High School after they raised funds and collected gifts for more than 850 children and adults with intellectual developmental disabilities.

Community service has always been an important mission for the cheerleading team as they hope to be great on and off the mat.

“Community is important to our program. We see the value that service teaches- like acquiring life skills and knowledge beyond the scope of life. I’m beyond blessed to work with a group of young ladies that want to give back and see that being a cheerLEADER means more than shaking poms and wearing a bow,” Coach Ashley Johnson says in a recent article from American Cheerleader.
